Dartmouth Arson on Albro Lake Rd.

A Dartmouth man faces a pair of arson charges in connection with a fire at his north-end apartment building.

Stephen Wayne Humber, 50, was arrested Wednesday after someone set fire to the door of another apartment at 149 Albro Lake Rd.

The fire, which caused minor damage, was extinguished by the time Halifax Regional Police arrived at about 3:55 p.m. No one was hurt.

Humber was arraigned in Dartmouth provincial court Thursday, with the Crown consenting to his release on a $3,000 recognizance.

Under the terms of his release, Humber must stay away from the apartment where the fire was set and have no contact with its female occupant. He also was ordered not to consume alcohol or drugs and can't possess any weapons or a lighter, matches or other incendiary devices.

Humber will return to court April 19.
